DESIGN LAB /// STUDIO ARHOJ
Posted by Claire Morazzano on 15th Dec 2014
The latest range by Studio Arhoj is beautifully crafted clay with a soft pastel colour glaze. They are a mix of Scandinavian and Japanese design which compliments each other due to their simplistic style.
Located by the harbour in Copenhagen, Studio Arhoj
is a
Danish interior & design studio run by Anders Arhoj. Originally
founded in Tokyo in 2006, Studio Arhoj then relocated to Denmark.
It was important to Anders Arhoj the founder that they keep the traditions
alive, such as wheel throwing and glazing. By
bringing together Scandinavian and Japanese design, Anders and created a
collection of timeless bowls.
He has also created the melting mug, which comes from the Japanese tea tradition, however each mug is unique as the glaze is impossible to control, so some have long drips, and other short.
The Sing pots with their slightly startled expression are fun and quirky. You can store pasta or seeds, or use on the desk for pens and paintbrushes.
You can see from the craftwork Anders is a master in his field, the quality is second to none, and their real passion in his work, as he bring you objects which are unique, some of the humour, and affordable.
