INSPIRATION /// SCANDINAVIAN SHADES OF BLUE
Posted by Claire Morazzano on 25th Nov 2014
Today we are presenting this simple and bright Scandinavian apartment where the key feature of this style is the pastel colour of BLUE. In this case, the colour palette is very simple and includes the timeless white along with shades of grey and beautiful blue tones.
BLUE = Intelligence, respect, communication, trust, efficiency, serenity, duty, logic, coolness, reflection, calm.
Blue is the colour of the mind and is essentially soothing: it affects us mentally, rather than the physical reaction we have to red. Strong blue will stimulate clear thought and lighter moods, soft blue will calm the mind and aid concentration. Consequently it is serene and mentally calming. It is the colour of clear communication. Blue objects do not appear to be as close to us as red ones. Time and again in search, blue is the world’s favourite colour.
The pastel blue is a very important element in this case. The living room has blue walls and in the kitchen and the bedroom the walls have similar shades, maybe a little closer to grey this time. The home office has a décor that continues on the same line. It has wallpapered walls featuring a geometric pattern with the same shade that’s been used on the walls of the kitchen.
